Location

Srednja vas  is a village in the Municipality of Bohinj. The Ribnica stream flows through the village. Not far from the settlement, the Ribnica stream forms two Ribnica waterfalls, which are about a 30-minute moderate walk from the village.

On the village hill is the Church of St. Martin with a cemetery and a monument to the fallen in World War I. Here is the venue for musical events called the Music Summer in Bohinj. From the hill there is a beautiful view of the nearby hills, Studor and Rudnica. On the slope below Rudnica, called Senožeta, there is a ski resort in winter, which also allows night skiing and the possibility of a ski school.

The center of the village is a square with a fountain and a linden tree, where the villagers gathered. Every Monday in July and August, old customs are revived under the linden tree.

In Srednja vas in Bohinj there is also the Bohinj Cheese Factory, where you can buy the famous Bohinj cheese, grated cheese and sweet cream.
